Gamba Grass (Andropogon gayanus) is a significant weed in Queensland and is a declared pest under Queensland legislation. Cape York NRM provides support to the Injinoo Ranger Base, Northern Peninsula Area Regional Council/Apudthama Land & Sea Rangers as part of the ‘Reducing the impact of pests and weeds: Strategic landscape scale control while building land management knowledge and skills’ project.

This small grant project supports the purchase of herbicide to be used for the reduction of the further spread of 50 Ha of established Gamba grass over three consecutive years. (2014-2016).
