*(Message from the Chair) *It is with great pleasure I bring you my first report as Chairperson for Cape York Natural Resource Management, for our third year of operations. We have continued to mature and grow, and our new board is setting strategic direction for natural resource management arrangements on Cape York.
This Regional Investment Strategy contains the priorities for investment for the five years 2013-2018 as identified through consultation with the peoples and communities of Cape York.
Calotrope (Calotrope procera) was introduced to Australia as an ornamental plant. Although it is not currently a declared species under Queensland legislation, its control in Cook Shire is a priority.
This report was the first major product of a consortium project of scientists from James Cook Univeristy and CSIRO and was funded by steam 2 of the Regional NRM Planning for Climate Change Fund.
