Josh is from Western Australia and has a bachelor degree from Edith Cowan University in Marine and Freshwater Management. He has over 10 years experience in marine and fisheries research, with an interest in invertebrates and the impact of commercial fishing equipment on coral habitats.
Since moving to Queensland, Josh has worked as a Senior Environmental Scientist specialising in estuarine water quality monitoring for some of Queensland’s largest aquaculture facilities, helping reduce nutrients entering the Great Barrier Reef lagoon.
Josh has also worked as a Marine Parks Ranger for Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service & Partnerships as a Vessel Master helping maintain the islands within the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park with positive actions against pests, engagement with Traditional Owner Sea Rangers and zoning compliance.
