Marie Busschots

Project Officer

Marie grew up in Belgium where she studied Evolutionary and Behavioral Biology. She came over to WA in 2019 to finish her master's degree in Global Wildlife Health and Conservation and since then has been engaged with the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions in Albany focusing on endangered species conservation.

Marie moved up to Cooktown at the beginning of 2024 and started working on the Cape for the Water Partnership and Marine Monitoring Program. Here she worked alongside Indigenous Ranger groups doing water quality sampling and seagrass monitoring. Marie joined the team at Cape York NRM on 7 May 2024.

In her free time Marie enjoys sailing, snorkelling, hiking, kitesurfing, and exploring Cape York Peninsula.
