Marie grew up in Belgium where she studied Evolutionary and Behavioural Biology. She came to WA in 2019 to finish her master's degree in Global Wildlife Health and Conservation.

Marie moved to Cooktown in early 2024 and started working in the Cape for the Water Partnership and Marine Monitoring Program, working alongside Indigenous Ranger groups conducting water quality sampling and seagrass monitoring.

Marie joined Cape York NRM in May 2024 as a Project Officer. 

In her free time, she enjoys sailing, snorkelling, hiking, kitesurfing and exploring Cape York Peninsula.
