Bloom and Prosper, an annual womens-only event, sees women from rural and remote Far North Queensland come together to learn new skills, access industry and professional support, expand their networks, and relax and have some fun over two jam-packed days.
This year’s theme is Disaster Recovery and organisers have locked in workshops on how you can create a disaster management plan for your property, and what you need to do to take on the role of a community leader during local disasters.
In the wings are: making friends with your smartphone: making the most of emailing from your phone, and other hidden gems; taking control of your GPS, and improving your drone management.
And, to foster relaxation: a masseuse will be on hand to deliver Swedish Massage; spoil yourself with a manicure and pedicure; learn make-up techniques for those special occasions; join in Indigenous weaving lessons by Jitta Art artists; have fun with Kokedama creation—a unique way to display your hanging plants; look stunning with the guidance of a fashion stylist; and feel special with personalised lingerie fittings.
Far North Queensland singer, songwriter and musician Jasmin Chapmin will be there to get us up and dancing on Saturday night; Friday night’s cocktail party planning is in full swing; menus are being drawn up; and there’ll be a little bag of goodies for each person on arrival.
Tickets covering all this and more will go on sale through Eventbrite from Wednesday 1 April! Early bird tickets at $45 each available until 13 April when the price increases to $50. Either way, what a bargain.
Last but not least, expressions of interest for stallholders will be announced soon.
