The goal of this four-year program is to work with participating grazing land managers to develop and implement practical action plans that improve soil stability, native vegetation, and water quality in the Joint Management Area (JMA) of the Mitchell River catchment.
The Normanby Catchment Water Quality Management Plan is written in accordance
with the Australian Government’s Framework for Marine and Estuarine Water Quality
The continuation of the Rubber Vine Control works on Lukin River Containment line has shown a targeted approach which continues to reduce the threat of Rubber Vine extending past the containment line. The areas controlled cover a total area of approx 784 ha with 28 km of River.
