Yasmin has worked in community engagement roles in the past as a Child Protection Therapeutic Program Support Worker in Melbourne and ATSI Health Worker within the Cape York area. Yasmin's family is from the Wuthathi and Warrangu tribe of the Cape Area. She is a proud indigenous woman from Umagico Community in Northern Peninsula Area, she brings great knowledge of engagement with mob and community.
