Oliver McConnachie

Oliver joined Cape York NRM in 2018 in the role of Regional Extension Coordinator. This role calls for the distribution of agricultural information to graziers and the provision of education programs to assist land managers reduce sediment delivery to the Great Barrier Reef.

After graduating from James Cook University in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science, Oliver worked in western Queensland for five years in sustainable agriculture roles specific to the grazing sector. During this time he worked for the Department of Primary Industries, and also for the Department of Natural Resources & Mines.

Following his work in central Queensland Oliver worked as a Geophysics Survey Coordinator in various international locations. He returned to Australia in 2012 to commence work with NQ Dry Tropics in Townsville, again in sustainable agriculture’s grazing sector for the Australian Government’s Reef Rescue and Reef Trust programs.
