Helen is a Senior Mental Health Clinician with the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS). The team provides mental health support for the communities of Cape York. Helen and two other clinicians provide a weekly fly-in-fly-out service to Cooktown.

This trio also provides a service to Laura and Wujal Wujal, and surrounding areas. The team has offices at the Cooktown Medical Centre, Laura and Wujal Wujal Primary Health Care centres, but can also see people in their homes or other locations.

For those living out of town on stations, the team can offer a service via zoom or telephone if an appointment in town isn't possible. Our focus is to provide counselling and support to people to help them manage issues such as depression, anxiety, stress and grief. It is a free service funded by Northern Queensland Primary Health Network (NQPHN).

Helen has worked with RFDS in various communities across the Cape for 3 years and has previously worked with farming communities in rural Victoria. Helen is passionate about rural and remote mental health.
