Citizen science indentifying threatened species on Cape York

Documentation of recorded sightings of the distribution of the ant plant (Myrmecodia beccarii) and southern cassowary, their habitat, and threats, will improve accurate data for these species on eastern Cape York. 

The QR code will take you directly to an online form to record your sightings.

Cape York:My Place

Towards the end of 2020, the Cape York community was invited to submit entries for consideration to feature in a beautiful 2021 Cape York calendar. The submissions are now central to the 'wow factor' of the finished product. 

Submissions were open to all ages from tiny tots to seniors and was not a competition.

Cape York NRM 10 Year Anniversary

Cape York NRM celebrates its first decade this year. Incorporated in 2010, the not-for-profit organisation has been a regional success story, focusing on sustainability, capacity building, supporting community delivery partners and regional advocacy.

This special anniversary will be captured in special publication focusing on the people, projects, and places of the organisation’s first 10 years; finding out Cape York residents’ regional vision through the Cape York 2030 campaign and celebrating our unique region through art via the Cape York: My Place initiative.
