Recording of ethnobotany and sharing of traditional knowledge of botany of Jack Lakes region with traditional owners

Project summary

This project will support the recording of ethnobotany and sharing of traditional knowledge of botany of the lakes with traditional owners, which will aim to conserve and protect the natural and cultural resources of the Muunthiwarra Traditional Owners.


From 18th – 22nd June 2018 traditional owners and an ethnobotanist from the Tropical Indigenous Ethnobotany Centre, Australian Tropical Herbarium, will camp on Muunthiwarra country to carry out a scientific study of the traditional knowledge and customs of a people concerning plants and their medical, cultural and other uses and document this audiovisually.
