Starrlia was born in the Northern Territory, lived on a boat in the Kimberley and grew up in regional NSW before settling in Cooktown in recent years.

She has a keen interest in conservation, in particular, the monitoring and management of pollutants that can potentially leach into the land and waterways.

Starrlia worked in an employment re-entry assistance organisation before joining Cape York NRM as the Cooktown Office Administration Officer.

She loves finding new places to explore around the Cooktown region.
