Bob has been with Cape York NRM since its inception in 2010, working with the inaugural Board of Directors to establish the organisation and obtain funding for Cape York's first regional natural resource management body. 

He has over 20 years’ experience in executive management positions in the not-for-profit sector, with more than 12 years spent with community owned regional natural resource management organisations. Bob was CEO of NQ Dry Tropics, the regional NRM body for the Burdekin Dry Tropics NRM Region, from May 2005 until embarking on the Cape York adventure.

During his various careers Bob has gained considerable practical experience in community engagement and community development. He brings a systems thinking approach to the governance of natural resources on Cape York.

Bob has a background of tertiary level study in the social sciences and is a Master of Sustainable Regional Development.  He is a Churchill Fellow, and recipient of the National Service Medal and the Bicentennial Medal for service to Australians with disability.

Bob is a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (MAICD). He represents the six North and Far North Queensland Regional NRM bodies on the Committee of the Environmental Defender's Organisation NQ, volunteers with his local Rural Fire Service, and is a Director on the Board of Indigenous Consumer Assistance Network (ICAN).
