Seymour Out Bush
Seymour Out Bush is a remote area community development, training, mentoring and feral animal control consultancy.
The goal of the organisation is to provide effective solutions designed to provide community support including mentoring, on-country professional training, and instilling ownership into the community. The team designs successful solutions tailored specifically to the needs of community, culture and social aspects.
The Seymour Out Bush principle consultant has 15 years working throughout Cape York Peninsula, The Gulf of Carpentaria and the Torres Strait Islands has provided the organisation with many and varied opportunity for successful remote area community development.
This long-term experience has cemented the organisational ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people, from Government Ministers and Director Generals to traditional owners and young indigenous rangers. The group's strength is embedded in ability to work at all levels of networking, ensuring that ownership remains with local indigenous communities.
In 2014 Seymour Out Bush completed the Temple Bay Pond Apple Project, with the main objective of the project was capacity building of the participants in the form of training, mentoring and on-ground control work.
This project delivered capacity building and mentoring to the Kuku yu people, within the Temple Bay area, through a Pond Apple survey and control program.
