The Department of Environment and Resource Management has released the guide Managing Grazing Lands in Queensland. in_qld.pdf

Prepared by the division of Science Strategy and Integration,  the guide provides concise information for graziers on a range of issues relating to sustainable management. The main purpose of the guide is to assist lessees involved in the Delbessie Agreement that encompasses an area of approximately 50% of Queensland's land mass.

Lessees have a responsibility under the Queensland Land Act 1994 to sustainably manage leased properties.  Responsibilities  include maintaining productive pastures, managing plant and animal pests and conserving soil, biodiversity and water resources.

The guide has high value for graziers and is a valuable source of information for anyone wanting an overview of the sustainable management of grazing lands in Queensland. For further information contact Bruce Carey on 3170 5763 or email
