Cape Bedford Beach Clean-up - Tangaroa Blue

05 May 2019 - 11 May 2019

Volunteer to join the Tangaroa Blue team, along with Conservation Volunteers Australia, to head up to Hope Vale on Cape York. 2019 is the sixth year that Tangaroa Blue will work with the Hope Vale Congress Rangers and local community on their annual Cape Bedford Clean-up event.

This will kick off as the first Cape York clean-up trip for 2019, departing 5 May at 8am from Cairns and returning on 11 May by 5pm. Spaces in the vehicles will be limited, but if you have your own 4WD and would like to join us, contact vanessa@tangaroablue.org

The group will stop for a quick look around Cooktown and continue up to Elim Campground, which will be called home for the following five days during the marine debris clean-up from Cape Bedford Beach.

From Elim Beach, you can see mountains with irregular shapes that catch your eye and line the cape into the distance, as well the impeccable Rainbow Beach which is a blend of all colours.

Other than the amazing views and tranquillity, the campsite will also provide toilets and cold showers.

Volunteers are asked to bring their camping gear (tents, sleeping bags, pillow, mattress, etc), but Tangaroa Blue will provide food and cooking equipment.

This event is suitable for volunteers with a medium fitness level.

To register and for more information email vanessa@tangaroablue.org

This event is being funded through the Australian Government’s Reef Trust.
