Weed Habitat 

Commonly cultivated in tropical areas, from whence it escapes into the watercourses. Will grow well on dryer, poor sites.

Description 

  • Semi-deciduous small spreading tree to 10 meters
  • Leaves are rounded, divided for 1/3 of their length into two lobes
  • Deciduous in dry season
  • Flowers attractive with, purple or pink petals
  • Fruit a woody pod containing several rounded brown seeds
